Ragebreed Records is a dynamic and fiercely independent record label rooted in the UK’s vibrant underground music scene. Established under the umbrella of the broader Ragebreed brand, the label was created with a singular purpose: to amplify the voices of emerging and independent artists within metal, rock, and alternative genres on a global stage. The label was founded and is spearheaded by Karina Sher, an accomplished musician, entrepreneur, and advocate of grassroots music. Known for her work as the frontwoman of the melodic death metal band Mindlapse and ambient gothic project/film Lake Of Dreams, Karina’s deep connection to the underground scene fueled the inception of Ragebreed Records.

Her vision was to provide a platform that not only promotes cutting-edge heavy music but also nurtures a thriving, inclusive community of artists, fans, and industry professionals. Ragebreed Records prides itself on embracing a DIY ethos, offering bands the freedom to retain creative control while benefiting from comprehensive promotional and distribution support. The label’s diverse artist roster spans a broad spectrum of sub genres—ranging from melodic death metal, doom, gothic rock, to hard rock to metal—reflecting the eclectic and boundary-pushing spirit of the underground music world.

The label’s current roster includes notable acts such as Mindlapse, whose powerful blend of death, black, and progressive metal has garnered a loyal following as well as Lake Of Dreams which is a concept progressive, ambient gothic folk, and film project. In addition to releasing albums and singles, Ragebreed Records is actively involved in curating compilations, and fostering cross-promotional opportunities both online and in physical spaces.

Through these efforts, the label continues to build bridges between artists and audiences, transcending geographical boundaries and uniting a global network of heavy music enthusiasts. "Dreams can encompass a variety of moods and therefore LAKE OF DREAMS an acoustic doom fantasy project captures those moods to bring you energy through music to flow through the realms of darkness, romance, healing and beauty".

A solo endeavor featuring her debut self-titled EP, Lake of Dreams was established by Karina Sher, also the singer of the band Mindlapse. She envisioned a project that would intertwine concept albums, literature, and film. Guided by her admiration for Tolkien, Karina aspired to craft a dark romantic fantasy experience.

Karina Sher's musical journey began in 1994 with the band Neutral Shade, followed by her tenure with Mindlapse in 1996, during which she secured a record deal with HTT Records which she later decided to release via Ragebreed. She took a decisive step towards Lake Of Dreams, a personal project focused on acoustic compositions infused with gothic, doom, dark folk, and progressive elements. Her influences range from bands like The Gathering, Southern Isolation, Trees Of Eternity, Lacuna Coil, Opeth (especially the Damnation album), My Dying Bride, Faun, Dead Can Dance, The Moon & The Nightspirit, Hammock, Anathema, and Antimatter, alongside a myriad of film soundtracks and literary inspirations that shaped her musical narratives.

The theme revolves around an ancient druid witch who employs her magic to heal a high-ranking soldier of war, whose duty is to eliminate witches and druids. Their love is a forbidden one, filled with tension, as they are forced to repeatedly part ways, knowing that discovery of their relationship would lead to their execution—druids despised the authorities, while the authorities loathed witches and druids, often resorting to drowning them. Despite the imminent dangers, they were willing to risk everything to be together; in each other’s company, they found joy, but when separated, they spiraled into despair. The soldier grappled with the threat to his life, just as she did, leading to moments of doubt about their love, especially when he attempted to leave her. Nevertheless, their bond proved too powerful to sever. Ultimately, they faced a monumental decision. The first EP captures the initial chapter of this gripping tale. Will they overcome the challenges and stay together?"

With 6 songs written for the new EP, Karina, has recorded a masterpiece for a debut self titled EP which has been recorded at The Outhouse Recording Studio in Reading with prog genius John Mitchell. The hard copy CD is released via Ragebreed Records and available to buy from www.ragebreed.bigcartel.com along with free signed photo.

A new album is being worked on and will be released once finished. Karina is looking into investors as a film is being worked inspired by Tolkien and 80s/90s fantasy films. Karina is currently writing the script.

Three singles are available to purchase called "The Day After", "Patterns Of Non-Existence" and "Lake Of Dreams" (Self titled track) including the self titled EP.

KKKK - KERRANG MAGAZINE "PRETTY F**KING CRUSHING"

With each recording, metal band MINDLAPSE with vocalist Karina Sher, previously signed with HTT Records, have experimented with different genres, moods and influences from 1996 keeping each release varied and exciting. With dynamic female vocals and demos which have received KKKK in Kerrang Magazine and in the top ten charts for BBC Radio Rock & Metal charts with Chaz Carol, the band were also featured in NME Magazine and Metal Hammer Magazine. Having had interviews with the likes of Malcolm Dome from Total Rock Radio and stations such as UG Media, HFM, Misery Point Radio and having their music plugged globally, Mindlapse is on the way to a great musical career. Having performed at high standard venues including Rock City in Nottingham, Camden Palace in London (now called The Koko), Sheffield Corporation, Bradford Rio through the Under The Earth UK Tour with Cancer, Insomnium, Gutworm and Cruel Humanity sharing a tour bus with Insomnium, they also performed shows with various signed bands such as Napalm Death at the Under The Earth UK All Dayer, Skindred, King Prawn, Rachel Stamp, In Me, Kill II This, just to name a few. The band won accolades such as "Best Female Fronted Band" in England that was published in MRC and also Derby Telegraph, a full page spread in the Leicester Mercury, not forgetting their appearance on the Cop Out Compilation by Copro Records and the Tribal Sins CD by Empty Productions. The band was featured in Ragebreed Magazine - Issue 2 and was on the compilation CD for the 2nd issue.

MINDLAPSE (Ragebreed Records, HTT Records)

Karina Sher holds all the rights of all Mindlapse songs as singer and songwriter for all past releases. Jimi Mitchell is onboard as guitarist and co-songwriter for 2021 album including new band member guitarist Michael Cook. Mindlapse are actively looking for a new bass player, drummer and a keyboardist so they can record a new melodic death metal album under Ragebreed Records co-written by all the members of the band. All their previous releases have been re-released under Ragebreed Records.
