"Dreams can encompass a variety of moods and therefore LAKE OF DREAMS an acoustic doom fantasy project captures those moods to bring you energy through music to flow through the realms of darkness, romance, healing and beauty".

A solo project with the first self titled EP. Lake of Dreams was founded by Karina Sher from the band Mindlapse but wanted to do a project which involved concept albums, books and films. Inspired by Tolkien, Karina wanted to create a project which was a dark romantic fantasy project.

Karina Sher has been writing music and performing since 1994 originating from band Neutral Shade and from 1996 the band Mindlapse where Karina was secured a contract with HTT Records. In 2015 after she decided to dissolve Mindlapse, Karina decided to embark on a personal project to work on acoustic material which has elements of a gothic, doom, dark folk and progressive nature influenced from bands such as The Gathering, Southern Isolation, Trees Of Eternity, Lacuna Coil, Opeth (Damnation Album), My Dying Bride, Faun, Dead Can Dance, The Moon & The Nightspirit, Hammock, Anathema, Antimatter and a lot of movie soundtracks, films, poetry and ideas to embark on composition.

"The theme is about an ancient druid witch that uses her magic to heal a high rank soldier of war who's role it is to kill witches and druids. They had forbidden love where they both kept leaving each other because they both would be killed if anyone found out as the druids hated the authorities and the authorities hated witches/druids and would drown them. However they risked losing everything to be together and when together they were happy, when apart miserable but the solider risked losing his life as did she. The love was questioned as he kept trying to leave her but the connection was too strong. In the end they had to make a decision. The first EP is the first chapter in this story. Will they make it?"

With 6 songs written for the new EP, Karina, has recorded a masterpiece for a debut self titled EP which has been recorded at The Outhouse Recording Studio in Reading with prog genius John Mitchell. The hard copy CD is released via Ragebreed Records and available to buy from www.ragebreed.bigcartel.com along with free signed photo.

Lake of Dreams is available from Itunes, Spotify and most streaming sites..

A new album is being worked on and will be released in 2022 via Ragebreed Records. A film is being worked on in 2023 inspired by Tolkien and 80s/90s fantasy films. Karina is currently writing the script.

Three singles are available to purchase called "The Day After", "Patterns Of Non-Existence" and "Lake Of Dreams" (Self titled track)

KKKK - KERRANG MAGAZINE "PRETTY F**KING CRUSHING"

With each recording, the female fronted metal band MINDLAPSE, previously signed with HTT Records, have experimented with different genres, moods and influences from 1996 keeping each release varied and exciting. With dynamic female vocals and demos which have received KKKK in Kerrang Magazine and in the top ten charts for BBC Radio Rock & Metal charts with Chaz Carol, the band were also featured in NME Magazine and Metal Hammer Magazine. Having had interviews with the likes of Malcolm Dome from Total Rock Radio and stations such as UG Media, HFM, Misery Point Radio and having their music plugged globally, Mindlapse is on the way to a great musical career. Having performed at high standard venues including Rock City in Nottingham, Camden Palace in London (now called The Koko), Sheffield Corporation, Bradford Rio through the Under The Earth UK Tour with Cancer, Insomnium, Gutworm and Cruel Humanity sharing a tour bus with Insomnium, they also performed shows with various signed bands such as Napalm Death at the Under The Earth UK All Dayer, Skindred, King Prawn, Rachel Stamp, In Me, Kill II This, just to name a few. The band won accolades such as "Best Female Fronted Band" in England that was published in MRC and also Derby Telegraph, a full page spread in the Leicester Mercury, not forgetting their appearance on the Cop Out Compilation by Copro Records and the Tribal Sins CD by Empty Productions. The band will be featured in Ragebreed Magazine - Issue 2 and will be going on the compilation CD for the 2nd issue.

Karina Sher holds all the rights of all Mindlapse songs as singer and songwriter for all past releases. Jimi Mitchell is onboard as guitarist and co-songwriter for 2021 album including new band member guitarist Michael Cook. Mindlapse are actively looking for a new bass player, drummer and a keyboardist so they can record a new melodic death metal album under Ragebreed Records co-written by all the members of the band. All their previous releases have been re-released under Ragebreed Records.
