With deep roots in the UK’s vibrant heavy music culture, the organization is renowned for curating dynamic live events that champion both emerging talent and veteran acts, all while fostering an inclusive, community-driven ethos. Origins and Vision Ragebreed began as a UK-based music promotion entity, spearheaded by visionaries with a passion for elevating underground music. Over time, it expanded into a multifaceted brand — encompassing music promotion, a record label, an online magazine, and merchandise — culminating in the live events division. Ragebreed Live Events was created with the vision of connecting musicians and fans through electrifying gigs, festivals, and club nights, offering a platform for voices often overlooked by mainstream outlets.

Fee/Door Splits/Tickets Policy

Many venues and promoters are reluctant to collaborate with bands that do not have a significant fanbase; as a result, we must proactively manage risks to prevent financial disasters. Numerous promoters have faced dire consequences, such as losing their homes or accumulating massive debts, due to bands who demand exorbitant fees while incurring high overhead expenses. Unsigned bands often struggle with pricing their rates, lacking the necessary exposure, fan support, and media presence. In the past, we have booked acts that could not guarantee any audience attendance for their shows, creating a standpoint of high risk, which ultimately translates into substantial losses.

Every contract with different venues varies, meaning your sales need to adequately cover expenses. This introduces a level of risk, especially when booking out-of-town unsigned bands with limited exposure in a local market where fans are unfamiliar with them. To mitigate this, we implement a ticket policy: if a band can secure a guarantee upon booking, they are permitted to sell a specified number of tickets to cover their costs. This allows them to sell directly to their fans and retain 100% of the profits from these sales. Bands that are signed or self-financed and maintain a strong media presence tend to have more negotiating power, and thus can justify a fee with riders. Additionally, for smaller shows, we often operate on a door split, where we compensate the bands directly and have the budget to pay bands like we did in Aggression Download 2024.

When we first began, we did not provide compensation to unsigned bands as our contractual and door deal arrangements were substantially elevated. However, we aimed to offer these bands valuable exposure, and if they proved their merit, we would give them the opportunity to play at larger festivals in the future. Over the years, we have revised our policy and established the current process you see outlined here, which ensures prudent risk management. Throughout our promotion efforts, Ragebreed has consistently created opportunities for smaller bands to perform at venues, enabling them to gain exposure through our street and online marketing team and media services. It is important to emphasize that we have never engaged in pay-to-play schemes or buy-ons.

Ragefest UK 2019: A Landmark Celebration of Underground Metal
In the blistering heart of the UK’s underground metal scene, Ragefest UK 2019 roared to life — a festival that not only showcased the raw power of extreme music but cemented itself as a defining moment for the community that thrives on its fringes. Held at The Sal, Nottingham in the UK, Ragefest 2019 assembled a punishing lineup of death metal, thrash, black metal, doom, ambient, rock grunge and underground acts, pulling together bands from across the UK and beyond. More than just a show, it was a gathering of kindred spirits, a grassroots festival built by fans, for fans, under the banner of sheer intensity and underground solidarity. Headliners tore through relentless sets that left crowds battered but ecstatic. Highlights included Hecate Enthroned delivering their signature blend of black metal and atmospheric darkness, and Blasphemer, whose ferocious death riffs whipped the pit into chaos. Emerging acts like All Consumed proved that the next generation of extreme music is alive and well, channeling the fury of their predecessors with ferocity.
“Ragefest has always been about giving underground bands a serious platform,” said organiser Karina Sher, whose involvement through Ragebreed Promotions helped shape the festival’s unique ethos. “It’s not just a show — it’s a family. A place where bands and fans stand shoulder to shoulder.” What set Ragefest UK apart wasn’t just the sonic assault — it was the sense of community and inclusivity. Stalls, metal merch vendors, and promoting hard via media and underground zines gave the event a DIY heart, while fans mingled freely with artists throughout the day. Far from the corporate gloss of mainstream festivals, Ragefest pulsed with authentic grassroots energy, a space where underground metal wasn’t just played — it was celebrated. Attendees praised the welcoming atmosphere, stellar sound production, and commitment to showcasing a diverse lineup across rock and metal’s many subgenres.
For many, Ragefest 2019 was more than a weekend of music — it was a reminder of why the underground scene endures: passion, persistence, and unbreakable community spirit. “It was one of the best gatherings of extreme music I’ve been to in years,” said a festival goer, “Everyone here lives and breathes it — and you can feel that energy in every riff and every roar.” As the final chords faded and the festival wrapped, one thing was clear — Ragefest UK had carved its place as a vital institution in the British metal landscape. For those who were there, it wasn’t just an event. It was a statement: the underground is alive, loud, and thriving.

We did get rival promoters spread lies about the event, after the festival and we cleared up this rumour as it was confirmed as a smear campaign by the police upon checking evidence and confirmed as a boycott from a gang of rival promoters and their friends.

WE STARTED BY ASSISTING VENUES AND EVENT ORGANIZATION, AND WE LAUNCHED OUR OWN EVENTS, INCLUDING A 2-DAY FESTIVAL CALLED RAGEFEST UK. AS COVID CONTINUED TO RISE, RAGEBREED TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED LIVE EVENTS IN THE UK STARTING IN 2020. WE PLANNED TO RETURN IN 2022, BUT ULTIMATELY CHOSE TO POSTPONE UNTIL 2024, REIGNITING THE SPIRIT OF AGGRESSION DOWNLOAD AT THE MILLSTONE COURTYARD IN LEICESTER FOR KARINA'S BIRTHDAY. FACTORS SUCH AS COVID, HEALTH CONCERNS, AND THE LAUNCH OF OUR ZINE, RADIO, AND LABEL TOOK PRIORITY. RAGEFEST UK WILL MAKE A COMEBACK AT THE PERFECT TIME.

THE PAST
Initially known as Fusion Promotions, Ragebreed was dedicated to promoting the electrifying rock and metal events organized by The Charlotte in Leicester during its formative years. We were proud to support concerts featuring legendary bands such as Napalm Death, Kill II This, Skindred, In Me, Vacant Stare, Defenestration, King Prawn, Rachael Stamp, Ill Nino, My Ruin, Cathedral, Earthtone 9, and Sugarcoma, to name just a few remarkable acts.
BOOKING OUR OWN BANDS
We started taking charge of booking our own bands, and before long, we were hosting a variety of events throughout the Midlands, including unforgettable shows at The Old Angel in Nottingham, Upstairs at The Garage in London, and even organizing Under The Earth UK Tours for Candlelight Bands. Our commitment led us to invest in these talented groups, supporting their breakthrough from Europe into the UK music scene. With years of experience working with both unsigned and signed artists globally, we are well-equipped to navigate the music industry.
